Lightning has indeed struck twice in the baseball card world. Two years ago a number of the near impossible 1934 Al Demaree Die Cuts were unearthed in Wisconsin.
Who knew two years later, another 49 would be discovered at an estate sale near Milwaukee. Presented for bidder consideration are 49 of the Al Demaree Die-Cuts (R304). The cards feature photographic representations of each player with cartoon bodies drawn by former big leaguer Al Demareer.
Originally, these were 6 1/2" x 1 5/8 to 1 3/4". We must report whoever owned them cut them down, to aid in the storing process. Even, without the tabs, the cards are some of the only known from that long gone set. The majority have been folded on the line provided for display. Eigth of these (by our count) are uncatalogued in the 2011 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards (Krause Publications). 9223
