I have had the great privilege of collecting precious game-worn jerseys, game-worn hats, and game-used bats of a number of legendary baseball players from the past.  The authentication process is paramount to the integrity of any important collectible, be it master paintings, antique furniture, rare watches, fine wine, or baseball memorabilia.  In my mind, and I say this without any reservation whatsoever, MEARS is the foremost pioneer and expert in authenticating baseball's most important game-worn equipment.  The staff at MEARS are exceedingly knowledgeable, dedicated and professional.  Their review and examination process is tireless, exhaustive and without any conflict of interest.  Simply put, unless MEARS has examined and authenticated a game-used artifact, I would not feel comfortable acquiring it.
