Rogers Hornsby lived and breathed baseball. Few plied his trade like Rajah who finished with a gaudy .358 lifetime average, second to only Ty Cobb.
The sometimes cantankerous Hornsby was always good to his fans. That being said, finding a single signed Hornsby baseball is a supreme challenge in the collecting world. Because baseballs were an expense, many fans would fill them with autographs. Why just get one autograph when you could get a dozen signatures, right?
Well one astute seeker secured Rajah's autograph, singly, on this evenly toned ONL (Giles) baseball. A few scuff marks present but the penning is unmolested. The massive signature occupies an entire side panel and spills into the sweet spot a bit.
Conservatively, we grade the signature at a solid "6" in strength.
