Offered for auction in this lot is a massive collection of nearly 10,000 original photographs & laser prints spanning virtually the entire history of mankind's quest to go where no man had previously gone before, outer space. From the earliest rockets and satellites launched into orbit to the manned crafts that would follow and eventually touch down on the moon and other celestial bodies this comprehensive lot truly spans the spectrum of the space race. Majority of photos measure between 6" x 8" and 8" x 10" with some smaller sizes also included. Photos contain various editor's notations, date & photographer stamps & affixed cutlines on their reverse.

The lot contains over 2500 individual photos from the St. Petersburg Times Archives and over 7000 from the Boston Herald Archives. The photos taken from the St. Petersburg Times are individually housed in plastic sheets while the images taken from The Boston Herald are still in their original manilla file folders.

A small sampling of the many far out topics covered includes Space Shuttle Columbia, Space Shuttle Discovery, Space Shuttle Challenger, The Apollo Program, Project Gemini, Skylab, Telstar Satellites, NASA, James Lovell, Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, Kathryn Thornton and a literal galaxy of others.
