Offered is a Chicago White Sox road jersey which has been signed in black marker by franchise icon & recent Hall of Fame electee Frank Thomas. 1994 was the second consecutive American League MVP campaign for Thomas as he but a Big Hurt on opposing hurlers to the tune of a .353 batting average, .487 on base, .729 slugging, 38 home runs, 101 runs bated in, 106 runs scored and 109 walks against only 61 strikeouts in the strike shortened season.
Wilson size 46 tag sewn in collar while the team name, player name and number are sewn to the jersey in black on white double tackle twill. MLB 125th Anniversary patch sewn to the left sleeve while a team logo patch is present on the right. In addition a strip tag reading "Thomas 94 1" is sewn to the tail. While Russell was the official supplier of on field jerseys to MLB in 1994 some clubs still used jerseys from other manufacturers per pre-exisitng agreement. Wilson is verified as a supplier of White Sox road jerseys between 1992 & 1998.
Jersey shows moderate game wear, but wear could not be verified. Certainly team issued, our consignor sourced directly from a Chicago White Sox front office employee. Although we have no reason to dispute his claim, there was no accompanying provenance, and the final grade of MEARS A5 was assigned to the jersey. (61O0170)
