While the Miracle on Ice team shocked the world, the Team USA jerseys actually took a step backward in 1980.
We admit the 1976 version of Team USA didn't reach their goal of gold, but nobody looked as dapper on the ice as our nation's squad did. The final Olympics which Team USA donned durene jerseys produced this magnificent gamer. "USA" is proudly expressed across the chest in two-color tackle twill with red and white thread reinforcement. Put this under the category - You have to see it to believe it.
Although 35 years old, the jersey has maintained its brilliance and taken on a cream colored hue. #24 wore the jersey, which was worn by more than one player. A few runs are visible on the reverse. Blue material accentuates the upper half while blue/red/blue balances off the lower half. Side numbers give the pullover a dose of aesthetics. Outstanding use, but no abuse is captured.
Applied in the collar is a Steichens Associated Sales Sports Equipment manufacturer's tag and suspended size "56" flag tag. We have included a scan on-line showing a 1976 Team USA hockey photo.
This jersey represents an end of an era, the final Olympics with those beautiful durenes. We salute you Team USA.
