Milwaukee Bucks game worn equipment from the 1971 Championship era is quite rare, and items from the Big O are next to impossible to obtain. Offered for our May auction is a 1972 circa Milwaukee Bucks Oscar Robertson Pre-Game Worn jacket.

Manufactured by Rawlings, the tag dates to circa 1972-75, which is consistent with the jackets style. 7 snaps serve as the closure, and the jacket is trimmed with red/white/green elasctic piping.

Our research reveals that when examining available images, the Bucks jackets were issued with "MILWAUKEE" sewn across the chest. This jacket is sans the city name, and there is no sign of removal. Attribution to Oscar Robertson is correctly found with a simple "O" sewn on reverse in double tackle twill. This is verified via an accompanying photo showing Robertson in a following season's jacket with the name applied in the same manner. The jacket has been signed in silver marker with the full signature, "Oscar Robertson". The jacket shows solid use consistent with pre-game activities.

Consigned to MEARS from a minority share stock holder of the original team, he states he obtained this jacket in the Bucks lockeroom. The wear and "O" on the back of the jacket is consistent for what you would expect a game worn Bucks jacket to be, but the absence of the city name remains a mystery. MEARS Auction LOA.
