In most ways, Roger Maris couldn't hold a flame to his Yankees predecessor Babe Ruth. However, in his magical 1961 campaign, Maris did manage to topple one of the Babe's most significant records. His 61 home runs in '61 bested the Sultan of Swat by only one four-bagger and forever connected the unlikely pair in Yankees lore and baseball history for decades to follow.
This item, an approximately 17.5" x 17.5" framed photo display features a picture of Maris beside a Yankee Stadium plaque of Ruth. Below it, Maris has provided his signature in red-to-violet pen. JSA Auction letter included. E1258
