Based upon the evidence on hand it would appear that Australian pugilist Jack Read was not only a Lightweight Champion but also an aspiring poet. As proof we offer this 3" x 5" notecard which "Lightweight Champion of Australia 1913" Read has signed along with a humorous couplet reading, "A kiss on the hand is nothing, a kiss of the kisser's a knockout." Good condition with two small holes and some slight discoloration. (X0240)
