The Los Angeles Rams were far ahead of the curve with their beautiful jerseys during the Sid Gillman era. Of course is didn't hurt the team donned those eye grabbing blue durene jerseys.
What kept the Rams' jerseys on par with any other from that time period are those 5" sleeve numbers, incorporated in '57. Buddy Humphrey wore #10 1959-60. We attribute the use to him because of the combination of oversized sleeve numbers, embedded yellow stripes and him being the only player to wear the number until Billy Lothridge in '65.
Great overall wear is exhibited with numeral softness on the single-color mustard yellow identifiers. Stretch ribbed material is fitted on the sleeve ends and elbow reinforcements are found near the forearm region. A crotch-piece, complete with the original six buttons, is still in-tact. Applied to one end of the crotch-piece is a Fredericks & Co. manufacturers tag and Wilson size "44" label. Fitted under the arms are diamond-shaped inserts.
