Offered for auction in this lot is a Norm Kries professional model H&B Louisville Slugger. This Hillerich & Bradsby manufactured Louisville Slugger is a pre-model bat with KRIES in block letters on the barrel and the H&B 1930 period center brand.
This natural finished ash bat currently weighs 33 ounces and measures 34" in length. The bat has a round barrel & small knob and matches known player factory records. It exhibits heavy use with medium ball marks, stitch marks, dead wood on the barrel and a handle crack at 9" with some separation. The bat is side written "Norman Kries 8-22-30."
Bat receives 5 points for matching player records, 3 points for use and loses 1 each point for the handle crack and dead wood on the barrel resulting in a final grade of MEARS A6. Consigned by MEARS Staff.
