Offered for auction in this lot is a Kelly Gruber professional model Cooper game used bat from his later years with the Toronto Blue Jays. Model number H176 and Cooper Pro 100 appear on the barrel along with Gruber's name in script lettering. Kelly's uniform number 17 is written on the knob in black sharpie..
This Gwynn finished ash bat currently weighs 30 ounces, measures 34" in length and matches known player factory records with a flare knob and round barrel. It exhibits heavy signs of use with stitch marks, bat rack marks and a 8" handle crack with some separation. (Q0003)
Bat receives 5 points for matching known player factory records, 3 points for use, 1 point for a documented uniform number and loses 1 point for the handle crack resulting in a final grade of MEARS A8.
