John Thomas Boston Univeristy Signed Letter - US Track and Field Hall of Fame - JSA

Offered is a signed letter of former US Olympic high jumper, John Thomas. At the age of 17, while a freshman at Boston University, Thomas became the first man to clear 7 feet indoors. He subsequently pushed the world indoor record to 7'1-1/2" and broke the world outdoor record three times, with a career best jump of 7'3-3/4" in 1960 while just 20 years old. Thomas went on to be a coach at Boston University after representing the US at the Olympics in 1960 and 1964. The letter is on Boston University letterhead and is signed in blue pen and states "Dear Sir, Enclosed is the autographed photo that you asked for. Thank you for your interest." John Thomas.
