Mark Bode (1963-) is a successful underground cartoonist and notable tattoo artist. Mark, son of the late Vaughn Bode, carried on his father's work, receiving critical acclaim on his publications including Cobalt 60 and short comics of War Lizards (both originating from the hand of Vaughn Bode).
Mark's own illustrations also took the underground comic scene by storm. In 1986, Bode's creation of Miami Mice, published by Rip Off Press, was considered one of the best selling independent comics of the year. After years of working on comics such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and countless publications in Heavy Metal, Penthouse Hot Talk, Epic, and many other magazines, Mark reinvented himself as a tattoo artist and looked upon a whole new canvas, the human body.
Offered in this lot is a Belgian Print of a Bode masterpiece. The artwork, transcending the mind of Vaughn Bode to the hand of Mark, features a war lizard atop a 1941 BMW motorcycle. The print measures 17" x 22" and is in Near Mint condition.
