2001 (Pre- 9/11) Greg Maddux Atlanta Braves Autographed Game Worn Home Jersey w/ Eddie Mathews Patch (MEARS LOA / JSA)

The Braves won their 10th division title during the 2001 season. Maddux had another big year going 17- 11. Offered for this auction is a 2001 Greg Maddux Atlanta Braves home jersey.

The style is the white knit button down with tackle twill team name, number, and name on plate. To honor the death of Eddie Mathews in February, the team wore the black bordered, circular “41” for the season. The style of the shirt is verified as being correct for the era.

Supplied by the Russell Athletic company, the size 46 shirt is correct for Maddux for the 2001 season. Other examples that have entered the hobby have been found with extra length and tagged as such. This example does not.

No provenance accompanies this shirt and it shows moderate game wear. (73A0615)
