2001 (August 12th) Ken Griffey Jr. Cincinnati Reds Game Used Homerun #456 Baseball (MEARS LOA, Ticket Stub)

On August 12th, 2001, Ken Griffey Jr. launched this baseball for HR #456. This was Griffey’s 19th homerun of the season and the 456th of his career. The baseball is properly prepared with a distinct hit mark visible on the side panel. The lucky fan that caught the ball wrote, “Ken Griffey Jr, HR #19, 08-12-2001” on the side panel. Also noted “Griffey #19” appears on the reverse of the ticket in ball point pen. A box score accompanies the baseball. NOTE: Although we are confident that the notation was period and added by the original recipient, the ticket stub is not consistent with the area that the HR would have been hit. LOA MEARS Auctions.
