Curtis Martin may be football's most underrated talent of his, or any, time period. Because his name was never in the police blotter, he never made outrageous boasts or starred in a television show (sorry T.O.) or was a me-first player, Martin didn't garner nationwide headlines, although he did play in the media capital of the world.
This game-battered jersey was worn by Martin when he was in the midst of rushing for 1,204 yards and nine touchdowns. Numerous repairs (at least eight by our count) and hit scrapes appear on the pullover dazzle cloth/mesh outfit.
The numbers are created in single-color green tackle twill and "MARTIN" is spaced across a nameplate. A few pulls are found on the nameplate. Sewn in the collar is a year/size "00-48" swatch. The tail includes a Nike Team size "48" tag and "6" L.B." flag tag.
Martin signed the front in black felt tip. A photo of Martin with this jersey will attend.
