This is a 1999 Chris Peters Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1999 period based on the Louisville Slugger centerbrand period and the years in which Peters wore jersey #38 for the Pirates during the centerbrand era, 1999. This S341 model bat measures 33.75 inches in length and weighs 30.4 ounces.
This bat exhibits heavy use with deeply embedded stitch marks present on the top, back, and bottom of the barrel. Bat rack marks are present all throughout the handle and barrel. This bat has a 14" H-style handle crack and a few signs of grain separation present along the back of the barrel. Peters jersey number, 38, appears in yellow marker on the knob of the bat and blue marker on the barrel end.
This bat grades out at the MEARS A8 grade with five points for the base grade, three points for heavy use, one point for the documented uniform number on the knob, and a one point deduction for the handle crack along the handle. This bat also comes with PSA/DNA paperwork, which grades it out at the PSA/DNA GU 6.5 grade.
