1998 Ken Griffey Seattle Mariners Signed Professional Model Glove

Ken Griffey Jr. dazzled crowds on a nightly basis in the Emerald City. After Griffey left Seattle, his career was never quite the same. While Griffey had a couple of noteworthy seasons, nothing compares to his work with the Mariners.

This Rawlings model PRO TB24 glove was issued to Griffey Jr. but we believe it was a backup glove in 1998. The vintage is deduced because of the four dots which date it to the 1998 season. The glove is stiff and shows the lightest hint of use. "Ken Griffey Jr." is stitched (yellow thread) in the thumb region of the Trapeze model Gold Glove Series mitt.

Heart of the hide leather was used when this glove was created. A Rawlings manufacturer's label (wrist) and circular logo (thumb) are featured as well. Griffey executed a paint pen signature on the index finger.
