Al Clark has been convicted of faking these balls. We are not sure of the exact final circumstances of these baseballs, so we are selling them with full disclosure of the controversy that surrounded them. The ugly 1994 lockout was tough for the proud sport of baseball to overcome. The turning point finally came in 1995 when Cal Ripken Jr. broke Lou Gehrig's time honored consecutive games streak - Aug. 6, 1995.

The sporting world could finally put behind them the inglorious past with at least one feel good moment. From Ripken's record setting game is this game used baseball. Authentication comes with a signed letter from third base umpire Al Clark. The hand written letter reads: "To whom it may concern, The accompanied baseball is actually a game used Sept. 6, 1995 ball. Sept. 6, 1995 was the date Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's record 2180 consecutive games played. Al Clark 3rd Base Umpire American League Umpire #24." Worth special mention is a Ripken emblem on the south panel.

The ball shows great game use. The ball is signed by the three umpires (Clark Dave Morrison, Larry Barnett and Greg Kosc) and Ripken Jr. in ballpoint ink.
