This is a 1992-97 Al Martin Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1992-97 period based on the Louisville Slugger centerbrand period, 1991-97 and the period during that span that Martin wore #28 and played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, 1992-97. This R219 model bat measures 24 inches and weighs 32 ounces.
This bat exhibits heavy use with ball marks present on each side of the barrel with the most concentrated area being present along the top of the barrel. Martin's jersey number, 28, appears in yellow ink on both the knob and barrel end of the bat. A 12" H-style handle crack is present along the front-top part of the handle.
This bat grades out at the MEARS A8 grade with five points for the base grade, three points for heavy use, one point for the documented uniform number on the knob, and a one point deduction for the handle crack. This bat also comes with PSA/DNA paperwork, which grades it out at the PSA/DNA GU 8 grade.
