This is a 1991-96 Jay Bell Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1991-96 period based on the Louisville Slugger centerbrand period, and cannot be further dated as Bell's jersey number, 3, which appears on the the knob and barrel end, is the number he wore during that entire period with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
This bat exhibits heavy use with ball marks concentrated primarily along the top of the barrel, a few of which "Rawlings" can be made out from. A moderate coating of pine tar extends down the handle of the bat 13" from the knob. Bell's jersey number is present on both the knob and barrel end of the bat in black marker.
This bat grades out at the MEARS A9 grade with five points for the base grade, three points for heavy use, one point for the documented uniform number on the knob and barrel end, and no point deductions. PSA/DNA paperwork also accompanies this bat, which grades it out at the PSA GU 9 grade.
