Offered for auction in this lot is a Pete O'Brien professional model Louisville Slugger. This Hillerich & Bradsby manufactured Louisville Slugger has its model S2 stamped on its signature barrel and the Louisville Slugger 125 1983-85 period center brand.
This hickory bat currently weighs 30 ounces and measures 34" in length. The bat has a round barrel & regular knob and matches known player factory records. It exhibits heavy use with medium ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, a 6" area of dead wood on the reverse of the barrel and a handle crack at 4" with both showing some separation. O'Brien's number 9 is written on the knob of the bat.
Bat receives 5 points for matching player records, 3 points for use, 1 point for a documented uniform number and loses 2 point for the cracking resulting in a final grade of MEARS A7.
