Reed Waller (1949-) is well represented here by an iconic illustration of his signature character, Omaha the Cat Dancer, one of the most successful Adult Underground Comix series of the 80s and 90s. The Minnesota native put Minneapolis on the comic book map as the fictionalized Mipple City, home of the eponymous exotic dancer and the political and personal intrigues she navigates.

Omaha gradually progressed from the “Funny Animal”, or Anthropomorphic, comix niche and several short stories, until her book-length adventure in Bizarre Sex #9 led to headlining her own long-running title, with multiple printings and graphic album collections. The strip hit its stride with the addition of writer Kate Worley (1958-2004), who helped make the characters and their relationships so mature and involving that it was easy to forget that they were humanized animals.

Waller’s art is extremely scarce in the marketplace, so collectors and investors shouldn’t hesitate to bid on this Pin-Up beauty! Omaha is at her most alluring in a blue thong and see-through nightie…. don’t forget your catnip…ROWRR!

The artwork measures 9"x12" and is in Near Mint condition. (D1901)
