Ken Griffey Jr. basically grew up in the big leagues. Because his father was a key cog in the Big Red Machine, Griffey Jr. was always around the game.
In 1987, Griffey was the first pick by the Seattle Mariners. These Easton size "10" cleats may be the earliest known Griffey Jr. game worn mementos. Authentication is secured as a signed Griffey Jr. letter which emphatically states they were worn by The Kid when he was the protege. The Converse shoes, with rubber spikes, have a size tag on the inside which reads "19873". Both royal blue shoes show decent overall wear and have infield soil caked to the bottoms. Griffey signed the heel of both and inscribed "87" as well. We have checked photos from Griffey Jr.'s high school and the team colors were blue and yellow. The dirt caked into the bottoms mirrors that of what would be used a high school diamond as it doesn't have the almost orangish color associated with minor league and big league soil/clay.
Overall, a historic pair of game worn spikes from Griffey Jr.'s earliest of days in the spotlight.
