This is a signature model S318 that shows light use with ball barks, stitch marks and rack marks and remains uncracked with perfect factory stamps and his uniform number 25 on the knob. Bonilla became the Pirates' starting third baseman in 1987 but after committing a whopping 67 errors over his next two seasons at the hot corner, manager Jim Leyland moved him to right field. There he formed a formidable combination alongside stars Barry Bonds and Andy Van Slyke and helped propel the Pittsburgh Pirates to two of their three straight NL East titles from 1990-1992. He was an All Star from 1988-91 and in 1993 and 1995. This bat dates to his second year in the major leagues, his first with the Pirates (1986) thru 1989. Final Grade MEARS A7. Base grade 5 points, one point for light use, one point for documented uniform number. LOA Troy R. Kinunen / MEARS Auctions
