1986-87 Vance Johnson Denver Broncos Game Worn Signed Helmet (Scott Waters/MEARS LOA/JSA)

Vance Johnson played in some of his biggest games while wearing this helmet.

We are pleased to report Vance Johnson wore this very helmet during the 1986-1987 season.

Outstanding use is shown with surface scratches on the blue shell. Those famous Broncos decals accentuate the sides. Each of the facemask clips is dated to "86". A warning sticker is affixed on back. "82" is also decaled on the reverse as well. The "2" has fallen off but is present.

Johnson signed the back and inscribed "Super Bowl XXI" as well. M15 gel-filled padding is saddled on the inside. The original chinstrap is in-place as well.

Employed by the Green Bay Packers from 1984-2000, Scott Waters had on field access for each game, and mingled along the sidelines with the players. Several candid photos document his presence on the field. This lot originated directly from the Scott Waters collection.
