Jim Plunkett's career was going nowhere before enjoying a renaissance with the Raiders. Two Super Bowl victories during his tenure with the Raidahs has left him as one of the team's favorite sons.
We attribute these very shoulder pads to Plunkett for use in 1984. "84" is stamped into the front and also written under the front breast plate. The reverse warning sticker has "16" written in black marker for player identification. This was sourced a west coast auction house which stated on its LOA that the shoulder pads originated from a team source who stated they were used in '84.
Plunkett signed the front in silver paint pen. The shoulder pads appear complete with two fasteners and white string tie-up on front.
