Phil Niekro was a model of consistency during his 24 year long career which culminated with a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The offered size "7 1/4" cap was worn by Niekro during the 1983 season with the Braves. Sweat staining is apparent on the headband. "35" is written under the bill in vintage black marker. The size and number are consistent with other known Niekro exemplars. There is some sweat staining on the number as well.

This hales from the collection of a longtime Baltimore Orioles collector who was also a doctor associated with the team.
