Rennie Stennett was one of the first baseball players to cash in during free agency. In 1978, Stennett penned a five year, $3 million dollar deal with the San Francisco Giants.

Two years into the deal, the Giants had had enough and released the infielder. But Stennett still collected those big paychecks and remaining $2 million dollars.

This size "40" Giants alternate jersey was worn by Stennett possibly in Spring Training. Stennett never made the team in '82 so he did not wear it in the regular season. Minimal wear is shown. A Wilson size tag is revealed in the collar and "6 82" swatch is located in the tail. All of the identifers are crafted in two-color tackle twill.

Authentication is secured with a Giants team letter signed by hobby pioneer Dick Dobbins.
