Nathaniel "Tiny" Archibald spent 14 years playing in the NBA. He played for the Cincinnati Royals, Kansas City - Omaha Kings and Boston Celtics. In 1991 he was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and also voted as one of the NBA’s Top 50 Greatest Players of All Time.
Archibald was a willing passer and an adequate shooter from midrange. However, it was his quickness and speed and shiftiness that made him difficult to guard in the open court, as he would regularly drive past defenders on his way to the basket. He is the only player to lead the league in scoring and assists in the same season.
Based on the open closed formation of the lettering in the “MEDALIST” manufacturers tag, this jersey dates to 1982-83, Archibald’s final season with the Celtics. Archibald was quite effective during his final season in Boston, playing in 66 games, averaging 27.6 minutes, and scoring 10 points with 6 assists.
Medalist Sand Knit size 40 tag sewn to tail of jersey, which is constructed of white knit with "Celtics", "Archibald" and "7" sewn in green tackle twill. Moderate to heavy use shown. The jersey is all original with no alterations. For collectors attempting to complete their top 50 collections, Archibald is one of the tougher members of the club to obtain. (62P0063)
