Pat Tilley was a productive wide receiver who even pocketed a trip to Honolulu during his 11 year NFL journey.
Throwback might be one way to describe the possession receiver who notched 1,000 yards once. You have to look no further than the facemask which Tilley wore through his entire career. Mirroring what football players wore in the 1960s and '70s is this double bar facemask Cards' helmet. Cardinals' logos adorn the sides of this white (turned cream colored) headgear.
Numerous scratches have found their way on this helmet. "83" is decaled on the reverse, spaced with a raised white plastic strip.
The inside includes a Medalist Gladiator Hydra-Flo gel-filled foam padding and special cloth forehead enforcement (to minimize sweating). "Gladiator" is expressed on the reverse bumper and nearly worn out.
Tilley signed the reverse in black felt tip and inscribed "To Scott Best Wishes." Waters asked Tilley how many helmets he used during his career and he believed he only sported three helmets.

Employed by the Green Bay Packers from 1984-2000, Scott Waters had on field access for each game, and mingled along the sidelines with the players.
