Very rare 1980s Nolan Ryan Houston Astros game worn batting helmet with rare Jiminy Cricket decal. Starting in 1980, Astros reporter had a running gag with Nolan Ryan about his poor hitting and he would add a Jiminy Cricket decal to the back for good luck. This helmet has the decal. A video is included which shows the exchange between Ryan and the reporter and the sticker can clearly be seen. The placement is not identical to the helmet, but this was a decade long tradition and this helmet was worn at some other time than depicted in the video. We are 100% certain this is a game worn Ryan helmet and the only authentic example examined by MEARS. Ultra rare and one of the hardest to find of all Nolan Ryan collectibles. LOA MEARS
