Robin Yount played for peanuts, literally, during his rookie season. This predates the start of opening day and is the earliest known rookie season check to surface.

Made out for the sum of $49.64 is this check made Feb. 26, 1974. Yount endorsed the reverse and penned a full name signature in blue ballpoint.

This could be the first rookie year Yount check ever issued.

Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA holder.
