Before the franchise's promotion to the NBA, the Denver Nuggets were one of the hottest draws in the Rocky Mountain region. In fall of 1974, the ABA team replaced the popular Denver Rockets, who played in the city from 1968-74 before springing for Houston and the NBA the previous summer.

This 90-photo collection contains pictures from the Nuggets' three-season ABA tenure. Hall of Famers Davod Thompson and Dan Issel are prominently pictured, as are role players Bobby Jones, Paul Silas and Dave Robisch. And being an ABA lot, you know Dr. J also makes his fair share of appearances in these vintage images.

Most photos are 8" x 10" in size and NM condition. 01228
