There will be another jersey style quite as popular as the durenes of the 1960s and early '70s. Mesh replaced the iconic style and football uniforms forever took a step backwards.
Circa 1971-72 is this fabulous Falcons durene jersey worn by receiver/kick returner Willie Belton. Each of the identifiers is created in two-color tackle twill and "BELTON" is spaced across a durene nameplate on back. Embedded sleeve stripes give this an added dose of aesthetics.
Consistent use is visible with puckering on the numbers and some red staining below the numbers on back.
Sewn in the tail is a Reeder McGaughey Inc. Sand Knit tag and size Sand Knit label.
Celebrate jersey greatness, and the Falcons early days, with this eye-grabbing pullover.
