1967-69 circa Green Bay Packer Game Worn Coach's Jacket - Lombardi Era - MEARS LOA

Vince Lombardi turned the Green Bay Packer organization from downtrodden to the top of the football world.

When Vince was plying his trade, he was doing so in this type of jacket. This satin jacket shows wear and was worn by one of the coaches. Sewn in the collar is a Sand Knit size "52" label. According to the MEARS database, this type of tag was instituted in the late '60s.

Proudly boasted on the front is chenille Green Bay Packers embroidery. The team reference is sewn to a swatch. There are multiple photos showing Lombardi wearing this same style of jacket although his sleeve ends are ribbed. Additionally, the "Green Bay Packers" on this example appears on an patch, whereas the image in the accompanying photo shows the stitching directly sewn to the jacket.

We cannot tell who wore the jacket as there are no initials written for identification. We can say this was worn by a coach during the Lombardi era, one which will never be rivaled by the storied franchise.
