From the personal collection of Ray Nitschke is this NFL Bert Bell Player Retirement Plan which shows that the Hall of Famer had accumulated $213.38 a month beginning at age 65. Now the death prior to retirement would have been $3,332 if he would have died before he quit football.

My how far the league has come. This includes the original sleeve as well.
