Offered is a Green Bay Packers home jersey which was donned by running back Donny Anderson during training camp at the outset of his professional career in 1966. Jersey is constructed of green durene with number 44 sewn to the front, back and sleeves in white tackle twill. No manufacturer's tag is present as the tail has been cut off, though a size 44 flag tag is sewn in the collar. Given the Packers game jerseys of this era featured a serif at the base of the numeral 4 this jersey likely pre-dates Anderson's arrival with the team and had been carried over for practice use. The last Packer to wear number 44 prior to Anderson was defensive back Bobby Dillon from 1952-59 so this jersey likely originates from the end of his tenure with the team. Attached Getty image captures Anderson at training camp in a non-serifed style jersey with fellow bonus baby running back Jim Grabowski and is dated 07/30/66. Jersey was first issued and worn as the regular season jersey, then handed down as a practice shirt. (62P0195)
