This bat dates to his stint with the NY Mets as it is a 1965-68 era signature model S2 with his Mets uniform number 2 in black marker on the knob (1965-67). It is 34”-31.8 oz exhibiting heavy game use with deep stitch marks (esp. above the barrel stamp), perfect stampings and finish.
Signed by the Cleveland Indians as an amateur free agent in 1957 out of the University of St. Thomas, Hiller broke in with the San Francisco Giants. In his eight seasons with the Giants, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, and Pittsburgh Pirates, he hit .243 with 20 home runs in 2121 games.He hit the National League's first grand slam in World Series history in 1962 against the New York Yankees.He was later a coach and advisor for the Mets, beginning in 1979.
