Lot #272:

1963 Topps Complete Set w/ Pete Rose Rookie Mickey Mantle Sandy Koufax

The 1963 Topps set included Pete Roses first baseball card. Colored bottom borders have proved to make this a huge challenge for collectors.

Offered is a complete set of 1963 Topps including all the big guys. As a whole, the set averages EX in quality with corner wear. There may be an occasional crease, but overall, the set is solid. The worst of the cards is GD to VG, but the majority are in EX.

Highlight card grades include: #2 AL Batting Leaders with Mickey Mantle (EX), #3 NL Home Run Leaders with Hank Aaron and Willie Mays (VG), both #54 1963 Dave DeBusschere versions (EX 1963/GD 1962), #115 Carl Yastrzemski (EX), #200 Mantle (EX with print mark), #210 Sandy Koufax (EX) and of course #537 Pete Rose (VG).
