This lot of 8 photos captures Sandy Koufax of the Los Angeles Dodgers during the time frame when he won 3 National League Cy Young awards in 4 seasons. Measurements range from 6.5" x 8.5" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various combinations of handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and photographer & date stamps on their reverse. The Seattle Times originated as the Seattle Press-Times, a four page newspaper founded in 1891 with a daily circulation of 3,500, which Maine teacher and attorney Alden J. Blethen bought in 1896. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
