1962 Roberto Clemente Pittsburgh Pirates "Boston Herald Collection Archives" Original 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" Photo (BH Hologram/MEARS LOA)

Roberto Clemente joins forces with Tommy Davis and Dick Groat before the 1962 All Star Game in Washington. The following appear on reverse: "Jul 11 1962" date stamp and Boston Herald Archives hologram.

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
