Offered is a 1961-67 era bat that, along with George's uniform number 8 in faded marker on the knob, the 1961 Cubs team being the most likely major league season that this bat could date to. ( if he wore this number in the minor leagues between 62-64, it could also have been used during his last two seasons in the minor leagues as well.) The bat measures 35" and weighs 32.9 oz. This bat exhibits heavy game use with deep ball and lace marks on all of the hitting surfaces. There is a multiple closed handle crack. All foil markings are perfect. Bat grades a MEARS A8 with 5 base points, 3 use points, 1 point for vintage number 8 and minus 1 for handle crack.

George had a long career (1948-64), mostly in the minor leagues. Notable teams in which he was a member include a six year stint in the old PCL for Hollywood, San Diego, Los Angeles along with four of his six year PCL career playing for the Portland Beavers where he was highly regarded. Collection of MEARS staff.
