Offered for auction in this lot are 23 photos of Hall of Fame Los Angeles Dodgers hurler Sandy Koufax during his playing career and also the years after his retirement. Also pictured with Koufax in this lot are Walter Alston, Joe Cronin, Don Drysdale, Tommy Davis, Jim Palmer, Whitey Ford, Joe Torre, Vida Blue, Curt Simmons, Mrs. Koufax and Nancy Sinatra. Measurements range from 6.5" x 6.5" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
