The first two decades of the New York Mets existence are captured in this lot of 31 photos. Some of the more prominent Metropolitans featured include Casey Stengel, Warren Spahn, Yogi Berra, Willie Mays, Ford Frick, Rogers Hornsby, Gil Hodges, Bowie Kuhn, Cleon Jones, Edd Roush, Sandy Koufax and Sparky Anderson. Measurements range from 5.5" x 6" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
