Offered is a signature model 016 that was manufactured from 1960 through 1964. It measures 34" and weighs 32.7 oz. The factory stamps and finish are perfect and the bat exhibits moderate game use ball marks on the back and bottom of barrel, cleat marks and rack marks. Maris ordered this model in both 1960, his MVP season as well as in 1961 yet there are no personal records of any 34" models. There is a 3" closed handle crack and some red marks on the knob but no longer readable. Because no 34" bats are found in the factory shipping records to Maris, it is considered a team index bat, one that would have been ordered by the Yankees in bulk in various lengths for use by any player on the team. Given that this same bat in 35" would sell for upwards of $5,000, this makes for a pocket friendly alternative.
