Offered is a Hank Aaron block letter last name only style bat that measures 35" and weighs 29 oz. On the knob in pink paint is the number 9 which was the number worn by Joe Adcock during this era. The bat is pounded with use on all hitting surfaces including ball and stitch marks, cleat marks and an 11" multiple handle crack with some high edge chipping and the remains of some old black tape residue that once repaired the crack. Comparing this bat to H&B records, we find that the lengths listed for Aaron are 34-36" and weights with a low of 32 oz and a high of 36 oz. During the 1958-60 era of this bat, he ordered 35" bats at 33-34 oz. Given this bat could easily have weighed 3-4 oz more at time of manufacture, it could have weighed 32-33 oz when it left the factory. The style of bat is similar to noted Aaron H&B models. As to the "C" series, they were never a catalog or retail offering and there is well documented major league game use associated with this series most notably, a Whitey Ford World Series bat obtained from him. This is the tougher white letter series with some minor fading of the foil print. MEARS has graded this bat an A6 as a two player bat with 5 base points, 3 use points but minus 1 for crack / chipping, -.5 for grain separation and -.5 for faded white foil.
