Lot #104:

1957-68 Floyd Patterson “St. Petersburg Times” Original News Photo (“St. Petersburg” Hologram/MEARS LOA) - Lot of 32

The legendary Floyd Patterson struck fear into the hearts of opposing fighters during his prosperous boxing career. However, outside the ring, Patterson often had a smile on his face and people by his side. This 32-image lot features Patterson alongside his family, friends and in other out-of-ring poses. Images range between 2.5" x 4" and 8" x 10" in size. Reverse includes: date stamps, affixed cutlines, date stamps, written notations and a St. Petersburg Times hologram.

The St. Petersburg Times traces its origin to the West Hillsborough Times, a weekly newspaper started in Duedin, Florida in 1884. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
