This is an ultra-rare piece of Milwaukee Braves history. Rarely are there any Milwaukee Braves items that have not been examined by the staff of MEARS. In over 30 years of dealing in Braves items, this is the only instance this piece has ever been seen and we believe it to be one of a kind. Measuring approximately 25" in height and 65" in diameter, the frosted light globe was hand painted. Introduced in 1957 and used through 1965, the team logo, the "Laughing Indian" was expertly applied by a skilled artisan. The globe remains in excellent overall condition with a light scratch which touches the paint of the Brave. The light globe was removed by a family member from a Milwaukee Braves ticket hub in Milwaukee. More beautiful in person, this lot represents one of the finest Braves items extant.

Regarding the history of the ticket outlet globe, our consignor recalled,
“My dad has lived in Milwaukee all his life. He gave me this background on the piece. It hung in Daly's Pen Shop in the Plankinton Arcade, which was an official Braves ticket outlet. My dad has a friend whose mother worked at Daly's in the 1950s and '60s. When the Braves left town, the ticket counter was dismantled, and she took the light fixture home, where it sat in her basement for years. Eventually it found its way to her son's basement. He gave it to my dad, who gave it to me!” It has been in our consignor’s possession ever since being gifted to her by her father.
